The music of A long trip 22 confirms Claudio
Fasoli's personal expressive depth, the music is
fully aimed at the message, the atmosphere,
the thematic perception, the emotional
impact, the spark of the project itself. There are
no excessive improvisations, no sonic
sensationalism, no over-the-top melodic
concessions, only and exclusively the act of faith, the immersion in an ambitious project that requires
extraordinary sensitivity. The synchrony and harmony of the quartet is surprising, the meticulous
sequence and intermittence of the sax, of the tempos, an almost surreal balance where the soul of
the music itself seems to guide the musicians, through a ghost orchestration without a master, which
flows with the refinement of the sounds, the efficiency of the emotions. A long trip 22 expands
Claudio Fasoli's artistic vision, it is made up of independent pieces, with different colors but at the
same time united, a single body or pieces of a
vibrant, finely crafted sound mosaic; it does not
present fragmentations, distortions, anomalies,
in their sinuous and sensorial guise the tracks
follow one another with a circularity, like our
soul attracted by this simply magnetic disc.
Claudio Fasoli says: “With A long trip 22 I move
on all possible territories within the sphere of
what belongs to the harmony of Western music
and I always discover possibilities for
development. But I do not shy away from more
orthodox or ‘out of harmony’ solutions, or even
banal ones if necessary, I do not want to have
limits or preconceptions. Respecting the
concept of unpredictability of developments
which is something that has intrigued me a lot
for at least twenty years. From a structural point
of view I prefer asymmetrical forms, or not
necessarily symmetrical ones”.
